Project for University Module: MODELS AND METHODS OF CURATORIAL PRACTICE

Emotions, self-reflection and the human condition are the main subjects of this exhibition concept “Bare Your Soul”. The emphasis is on creating an illustrative story of an individual inner, emotional life. It is a collection of various different emotional experiences that construct a shared experience of all human beings. This concept shows how series of artworks put together in a certain order delve into the psychological space and self-reflection, consequently presenting a sequence of expressions that bring about an affective insight into humans’ emotional life. It represents the entirety and perplexity of emotions. Different artists take on different approaches to the representation of an emotion, but each represents a stage in the human condition. I envisioned to present it as a journey of the human condition though artworks display. Each artists work is a representation of a certain emotion and in this exhibition, they are sequentially organised in space and presented as a narration, it encapsulates life’s many complexities. Also, it is an ode to the strong link of arts and mental health and the contribution arts can make to health and wellbeing.
